8 easy and filling breakfast ideas
Here’s to all the girls that love breakfast just as much as I do! When I go to bed at night, I am already looking forward to my breakfast the next morning and I love the variety. After discovering oatmeal, I had it everyday, for months. But now I eat something else almost every day and I LOVE it. Here are some of my all time favorite breakfast ideas.
1) Pancakes
Huh, Pancakes? Healthy? YES! There are thousands of ways to make pancakes a healthy, balanced meal. The easiest and paleo-approved option is to mix banana, eggs and cinnamon, but to be honest, I prefer pancakes with healthy flour that actually taste like the real deal. You can easily experiment a bit with the ingredients – I usually use oat flour, eggs, coconut flour, sweetener, protein powder, almond milk and baking powder but there are THOUSANDS of variations. 2) Oatmeal
Like – what else? Oatmeal or porridge is such a traditional food (for example in England) but I think we just rediscovered it. It really doesn’t get any more delicious and it’s also a really healthy meal. It keeps you full for hours and gives you a lot of energy. I think I’ve tried at least 20 different versions and it never gets boring. Some of the recipes can be found on my blog – www.julesvogel.com.
3) Chia Pudding
The health benefits of chia seeds are simply mind blowing – they are rich in healthy omega 3 fats, high in protein, they help your digestion etc. By mixing 3 tablespoons of chia seeds with 180 ml of milk (for example almond milk) and adding sweetener, vanilla or cacao, you can create an amazing, delicious breakfast. Stir your chia pudding occasionally during the first hour and set it in the fridge overnight. You are going to LOVE it! Top it with fruit or even granola and yogurt and enjoy your clean pudding.
4) Fruit platter
While some people think that a lot of fruit makes you fat, I love to eat loads. I’m sure you all know how beneficial fruit is in a balanced diet and sometimes I just go for a big fruit platter in the morning. I feel like my body can absorb all the vitamins even better when I have them on an empty stomach.
5) Smoothie
Smoothies are always a great option when you have some leftover fruit and want to turn it into something delicious. I like the combo of fresh fruit and orange juice in a smoothie, but sometimes I also make green superfood smoothies with spinach, banana, mango, avocado, hemp seeds, chia seeds and hemp protein. Sounds too healthy? But it tastes surprisingly good – just give it a try!
6) Muesli with yogurt/milk
I got to admit – I’m a muesli lover! Whenever I am in a health food store, I buy another kind of muesli. You can add nuts, dried fruits or fresh fruits and eat it with yogurt or milk. Making your own granola is also a great option when you have more time. Just fry 200 grams of rolled oats with coconut oil and honey in a pan for 5 minutes and put it in the oven for another 15 minutes at 160 degrees. Let it cool and enjoy!
7) Scrambled eggs
This is not only a good option at home, but also in hotels or restaurants. In order to have a complete, healthy meal, add whole grain bread or a whole grain roll and some veggies.
8) Baked Oats
Having baked oatmeal for breakfast always feel like having a small, healthy cake – it’s so good! You can make your usual oatmeal with any flavor you like and mix it wit fruit. Then you bake it in a little baking dish for about 15 minutes and tadaa – a yummy alternative to your usual oatmeal.
