Resolutions beyond having a Fit Girl body
Are you enjoying the new year? Are you committing to you new year resolutions? Maybe those resolutions include working out more, eating more healthy or less snacking. You might be dedicated to achieve a Fit Girl body, with toned abs of steel, biceps and a rounded booty through pumped up glutes.
I want to share with you my troubles about achieving a fit body, and why I believe there’s is so much more out there to accomplish. I want to go out and explore fit and healthy goals that satisfy your soul instead of vanity. Goals that empower you beyond your own belief and confidence.
Running farther than you could ever imagine
I dare you to enroll for a race distance beyond what you think is your limit. It might be a 10k, a half marathon or a marathon, or any distance for that matter. Just as long as your first reaction to the sound of that distance is: “OMG”. The goal is to finish the race, no more no less.
The boost of self confidence I gave myself y by finishing a half marathon is something I hope every Fit Girl will experience. More importantly, the training you do is only a means to an end. The way your body changes is a mere side effect of you getting able to concur the world.
Lifting more than your significant other
Forget pretty princess, you are a boss! Can you imagine how you would feel if you significant other wants to carry the heavy groceries and you could say: “Honey, I got this.” Yup, I know. Pretty awesome, right? Forget the way your muscles look. Training those abs is not about having a slimmer waist, or looking a particular waist. It’s about being strong. It’s about being equal. It’s about reshaping how people think of you.
Having energy for two
Have you noticed how both working out and eating healthy has a positive effect on your energy levels? It’s is what separates the Fit Girls from the not-so-fit-people. “How do you do all that?", they wonder. “How can you find the energy to work out so much?” The answer is that by working out three times a week, your boost your energy. That by eating healthy, your body doesn’t have to waste energy on digesting empty nutrients.
Why not make this energy boost the main objective, instead of focussing on a Fit Girl body?
The problem I have with achieving a Fit Girl body is that is just the same stereotype we girls force ourselves in: that we’re all about looks. Having a Fit Girl body is just a different description of being beautiful, and that’s a shame. My resolution this year is to look beyond the mirror and achieve a deeper Fit Girl mind set. Where working out and eating healthy is only a means to an end. Feeling powerful and energized and being able to inspire the people around me is my main objective.
So tell me, what are your resolutions?
