The story behind Jogha - Colourful Leopard
A year ago I decided that my sales job at a marketing firm was a waste of my talent. I was always looking for stylish sportswear. Although the materials of existing sportswear were great, the clothing did not really match my personal style. What I didn’t find during my quest for the perfect sportswear, I decided to make myself. This is how Jogha came to exist. Luxury sportswear for busy women who do not only want to look their best but also be their very best, inside and outside of the gym. Each week I’ll share a chapter of the story behind Jogha.
Last week I told you about my attempt to become a fashion designer in 30 days. When I tried to start my business I wanted to do everything myself. Soon I realized that I needed real professionals to help me out. After my business plan was finished I contacted a fashion designer. She was the first freelancer who became part of the Jogha team. I made the initial concept for the collection and she made sure all the technical aspects of the garments were right. Together we created a sports brand, which sculpts and streamlines the female physique and appears luxurious and fashionable at the same time.
Why is the leopard so colourful?
Funny fact about the Colourful Leopard print…. You’d probably think that it got invented before the Animal Collage print, which is a blend of several animal prints, but actually it was the other way around! After I finished the Animal Collage tight I kept staring at the leopard fabric and thought: “This print needs a more prominent place in my collection.” This is how the entire Colourful Leopard line came to exist. A girl can never have too much leopard, right? Even the hangtag is completely devoted to this awesome print.
Long tights Colourful Leopard
The Jogha Long Tights was the first garment I designed. In my research to design the perfect running tights, I came across some interesting insights. Fit Girls wanted a cool print, but some of the prints were not flattering and accentuated their upper legs. That is why we combined a black base with bold prints for support and streamlined physique. We used flatlock stitching to prevent chafing and added an extra panel on the side to create a curve that flattered.. well.. the booty!
