5 healthy breakfast ideas
Working a full time job and being a Fit Mom and a Fit Girlfriend, I prefer easy and healthy stuff going on in my kitchen. Going through my Instagram account I came across the following 5 healthy breakfast ideas I would like to share with you:
Quark Sensation
This pink breakfast is fun to eat for the little ones around the house and it will also do you good! For 1 adult serving put the following in your blender:
- 1 cup quark
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 cup (frozen)strawberries (or any other type of forest fruit)
Note: Add your powders while you blend or your toppings when you're done - we usually don't and have it as it is.
Pancakes Go Easy On Me
This recipe is SO easy that my 11 year old Fitgirl usually offers herself to make them! The following should be enough for 2 adults:
- 1 cup self raisin flour- 1 cup (almond)milk
- 1/4 cup (palm or stevia)sugar (or any sugar in your cabinet)
- 1 egg
- 1 apple
- (coconut)oil or butter for in the pan
Mix or whisk the flour, sugar, milk and egg together till it's good enough for you. Then, grate the apple through the mixture. Add the butter or oil to your liking in the pan and preferably make small pancakes, the American type or heart shaped ones if you can.
Put whatever you like on top of the pancakes, try to keep it as healthy as possible :) Honey, syrup, jelly, banana, chocolate...and the list goes on.

Smooth Operator
This one is a smooth operator as it has a secret ingredient hidden in it which you can't see: SPINACH! Your kids won't taste it and will have the nutrients intake = WIN, WIN! For 1 adult serving put the following in your blender:
- 1 cup plain Greek yoghurt
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup (frozen) strawberries
- 1 cup spinach leaves
Greek and Blue
This one is a creation of my 11 year old Fit Girl. Check the ingredients to find out why we call this on Greek and Blue.
- 1 cup GREEK Yoghurt
- 1 handful of (frozen) BLUE berries
- Sprinkle some coconut as topping
According to the girl it's a great combo!
Carrot Eyes
Carrots are good for your eyes - I guess we all know that but if you combine it with the following ingredients it's also a great body cleanser!
Usually after a heavy and rich meal with meat I prefer to have a good bottle of this juiciness as breakfast the next day, to help digest the meal from the evening before. Combine this with some glasses of water and your internal organs will reward you for it!
The following ingredients to put in your juicer is good for 2 servings:
- 2 apples, cored, peeled and chopped
- 5 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 inch ginger, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 lemon, seeded and skin removed
