Kiki! The newest #FITGIRLCODE sister!
Hi Fit Girls! I am the newest #FITGIRLCODE sister! My name is Kiki, @fitgirlkiek on instagram, a 28 year old big-mouth-small-heart kind of girl. I am a Dutchie, living in Rotterdam with my BF and our two kids, uuhhm I mean cats (ragdolls) Pixie & Dexter. I love everything that has to do with hair and make-up, fashion, health and fitness, interior design, and traveling. I also love spending time with my family and (girl)friends.
My story
A year ago I was fed-up with my lazy ass. I would eat a bag of M&M’s and look at fitness quotes on Pinterest while complaining about myself. I had to make a change, for me, to be happy again and to feel comfortable in my own skin. I already knew Christel, she is my friend and neighbour and she motivated me with her before-and-after pictures (A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!) on her IG account.
So I joined her for a lesson at Elevator Sports. It turned out better than I expected. I liked the exercises, the vibe and the people. Yes, I died, multiple times. At least I thought I was going to die but I pushed through! I also made some changes in my diet, for example; I eat more vegetables and protein and no sugar during weekdays. It took me A LOT of tears, sweat and sore muscles but I can finally say that I feel good about myself!
For everyone who wants to make a change but doesn’t know where to start: Take it step by step!! You cannot change the way you live in a day or week. Start exercising 2 times a week and when routine is in your system than try to go 3 times a week. If you eat healthy and workout 3 times a week than you will see the changes in your body within a few weeks and you will feel better! Less tired, less graving for fa(s)t food and you will sleep better. Trust me!
If it scares you it might be a good thing to try
I’m not gonna lie. It scares the crap out of me to know that people will actually read my blog and have an opinion. Will they think it was any good? Did I make any typos? Was it funny enough? That’s me! Always second guessing and as confident as going to the sauna for the first time!I know there is nothing wrong with me but if people stare at my face for more than 2 seconds I will automatically assume that I have a major bat in the cave. (read: booger)
Inner beauty (and a nice b*tt) is great but a little mascara never hurts
All of my #FITGIRLCODE sisters have their own interests and we all have something to share. So I will share my love for make-up, hair and everything that has to do with beauty. We all love going to the gym with sweat dripping of our make-up free faces, but at the end of the day we are all still woman right?! I will share my thoughts on products and give you tips. And now and then I will also post a blog about health and/or fitness because HEY! I am still a Fit Girl!
We don’t compete with each other, we all hope we make it!
It took me 4 months to eventually write this blog. But I am very happy that I did. Being part of the #FITGIRLCODE crew makes me really proud. We are a group of strong woman who lift each other up and being part of this crew motivates me to be the best version of me, not only on the outside but most of all on the inside.
XO
Kiki
